Free Tango Dance Classes
Not sure if you'll like tango, but keen to give it a go? Or perhaps you are hooked already, but some of your friends just need a little extra encouragement? In the spirit of making Argentine tango more accessible to all, TangoClub is offering free beginners tango lessons with various teachers in Auckland. No experience necessary, no payment required, no strings attached—so no excuses for not being there!

Where: Pasión Por Tango studio, level 2 in the Barrington Building, 10-12 Customs Street East (map)
Price: free
Come with or without a partner. No experience necessary. Stay on afterwards to dance if you wish.
If you would like to take tango to the next level, we encourage you to take regular classes from teachers in Auckland, and dance and practise as much as you can by attending the various practicas and milongas.

TangoClub organised twelve free introductory tango lessons in 2009 (roughly once a month).
Free Tango Classes in 2008
In 2008, TangoClub ran six free tango workshops with different teachers focusing on a variety of topics, thanks to funding from the Auckland City Council Creative Communities.
The first free class took place on Saturday 23 August 2008, and was an introduction to tango nuevo.
The second free class took place on Sunday 31 August 2008, and was an introduction to milonga.
The third free class took place on Tuesday 16 September 2008, and was an introduction to tango technique.
The fourth free class took place on Saturday 25 October 2008, and was an introduction to the concept of parallel and cross systems in tango.
The fifth free class took place on Sunday 26 October 2008, and was an introduction to tango musicality.
The sixth free class took place on Sunday 30 November 2008, and was an introduction to close embrace tango.
Our free classes in October were run in conjunction with the International Tango Congress of New Zealand.
